The 'Big Bang' Engagement Cake

Its generally easy to create a cake for someone when they order a cake, as they give a set of ideas and I just have to project that onto a cake.

It becomes a bit more difficult when you have to make a cake for yourself, however, because I know what I can do, and therefore have millions of ideas in my head at a time.
Fortunately, we have a colour scheme picked out for the wedding so that made it a bit easier.
I eventually found a few cakes I liked on the net, and went from there.
This was the result - a two tiered vanilla sponge cake in purple and green swirls, with vanilla buttercream frosting.
Enrico made the toppers once again - they are just too adorable.
This is the first cake I have made with an 'exploding star' topper - and I absolutely love it.
There were matching cupcakes in purple and green cases with star toppers.
The stars, spots, beads and stripes are all made with fondant.

Prehistoric Pamper Party

This Tyranosaurusly Terrific cake was for my nephews Baby shower.
His Parents (my brother and his girlfriend) are Dino Mad, so naturally A Prehistoric Master Piece was the only answer!

The Cake is a two layered vanilla sponge marbled in green and blue - see my engagement cake to get an idea of what that would look like.

The Center Pieces for the tables had Dino pops on them - my first attempt - and they came out pretty yummy!
The Dinos are made by my Fiance - Enrico - and I have to say, he's getting really good at the figurines!

The cupcakes are also swirled vanilla sponge in Orange, Green and Blue.
The vines on the cake are hand pipped and the rocks are cake pops sans the sticks...

Once again the little baby is made of fondant, but this time he has wee toes - just look at those little piggies!
